Camp is over – thank you all for your prayers. It was great to fellowship with Cambodian youth from many places throughout the country. It was also a blessing to see their joy in the Lord, as well as to see some who do not yet believe in Christ, come face to face with the Truth. We pray there will be lasting fruit in their lives from this week.
Thank you for your prayers for me and language gap – I was given much grace to be able to teach and communicate from God’s word. There is still a long way for me to go with language study, but it was such a blessing to have the opportunity to teach and share from God's Word.
Christiana and Ava also had a good time mingling with all the curious Cambodians wanting to catch a glimpse of that really white foreigner baby (some had probably never seen a Caucasian baby before). Ava was the star of the show, people taking countless pictures and reaching out to touch her (at times to Ava’s dismay). We’ll have to work on her movie-star complex. But it also was sweet to see her begin to interact with the other Cambodian children and laugh and play with them.

Hello All,
We wanted to write a short e-mail and ask for your prayers for next week as we participate in Shalom’s (the Khmer church we attend) summer camp. I will be teaching two sessions and still feel a bit inhibited by the language gap. Christiana and Ava will be coming along as well so you can pray that the time will be a great relationship builder. About 20 or so of the campers will be non-Christians, so you can especially pray that the Lord would use these four days (Aug. 24-27) to bring them to Himself.

We truly appreciate your prayers for this year’s English summer camp. (If you didn’t get the e-mail, send us one at nateandchristiana (at) actioncambodia.org and ask to be placed on the list.) The Lord abundantly blessed the time with the short-term team from our home church, West Hills and all of the youth that attended. Please continue to keep these young people in your prayers as the Lord works in their lives.
As for us, Christiana is still studying Khmer Level 2 at the university, and I am continuing my studies with a tutor. Both of us need your prayers as we attempt to communicate in this difficult language. When it becomes overwhelming, we remind ourselves that through language study, we will better be able to serve the Cambodian people in the name of Christ.

Hello Everyone,
It's day two of English youth camp, and things are in full swing! Our short-term team from West Hills is doing great and all the kids are having a great time. Please pray that the Lord will use this week in a mighty way in the lives of all the students in attendence, and that He would be honored and glorified in this place.
We are going through the "When I Don't Desire God" video series by John Piper, which is an excellent series and I think speaks to a lot of the youth.
Christiana and Ava are doing well, but both Ava and Christiana are a little sick (I was sick, but now I'm feeling much better), so please keep them in your prayers, especially as we are at the beach away from home.

It was over seven years ago that I first came to Cambodia. One of my main ministries was running a discipleship house for young men. Quite a few of the guys are no longer living in Phnom Penh, but we were blessed to have the remaining guys (and their families) over for dinner. Set and Sayon are both married (Set and his wife have a little girl, and Sayon and his wife are expecting). Chanthea was visiting on a break from seminary in the Philippines, and Bunhak is teaching in Phnom Penh. It was wonderful to see them all again and hear about their lives and what the Lord is doing. But it was also hard learning that some of the guys who used to live with me, are not walking with the Lord...

Nathan and Christiana moved to Cambodia in January 2010. They are working in discipleship, resource development and training. Nathan is a graduate of the Master's Seminary and hopes to use what the Lord has graciously entrusted to him to train up men to have a high view of God and His Word.
