Projects:

  • Adopt a Pastor/Church - Cambodian Christians desire to reach their own people with the gospel. We have a great opportunity to support them in their initial training and commission to plant new churches. The potential for unhealthy dependence is very real, therefore a church planter’s support is limited to five years, after which our expectation would be for the “Livelihood/Sustenance Project” to provide future income for the individual pastor’s ongoing support.
Total support: US$150 per month per pastor. (We are currently working directly with five pastors that are in need.)

  • Bible Distribution - While copies of the Khmer Bible are readily available, they remain economically out of reach for most people (equivalent to three days wages for most people). We can make Bibles available for distribution through the Shalom network of churches and through the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia.

Total cost is US$9,000 (3,000 Bibles at $3 each)

  • Andong Feeding Ministry -Action Cambodia partners with Andong Community Church to feed approximately 100 students each day.  Andong is home to 2000 families who lost their land to a large developer and were relocated from the city centre of Phnom Penh by the government of Cambodia.  Each family was "awarded" a 3 by 3 meter plot of land with no electricity, sewage or water.  Pastor Abraham planted Andong Community Church as a result of reaching out to this very poor community.

Total support needed: US$500 per month

  • Church-Based Livelihood/Sustenance Project-One of the primary challenges for church planting in Cambodia is making sure that the new church will have long term viability. We are looking for seed funds that would fund two models for long term viability for a church.

The total cost is US$2500 per project.

  • Mordecai's Courage Orphanage -The Lopez family has taken in five Cambodian teenagers and are raising them as their own. The are home schooling and rearing them in a God centered home where the love of Christ is being demonstrated to them daily.

The purpose is for God’s glory and the prayer is that these young people will become a light to the next generation of Khmer.

Support needed: US $1000 per month

  • Pastoral Resource Development - The pastors of Cambodia are in desperate need of solid resources for their congregation and for their personal use. Our translation team has just finished a basic discipleship book entitled Fundamentals of the Faith.

We would like to put a copy in the hands of every pastor in Cambodia!! Total cost is US$12,000 (2000 copies x $6 each)

  • Sponsorship for Bible College Students - Selected students from Shalom Churches are attending Bible College here in Cambodia. These students will be the future leaders of the Cambodian church. Students participate in classes here in Phnom Penh and then do their practicum ministry under the supervision of the leadership at Shalom Church Phnom Penh.
We currently have four students that are in need of sponsorship.

Total needed: US$30 per month per student

  • Cambodian Education Fund - This fund  is used to assist our translation work by sending one  of  our translators Chanthea for Biblical training and continued education for translation work. Chanthea will be attending International Graduate School of Leadership (IGSL) in the Philippines. Action Cambodia is committed to the equipping  needed to better provide pastors and lay leaders in Cambodia with God glorifying books in their own language that they in turn might feed the sheep that God has given them.

    Cost: ($6000 yearly)
